Our Bush Dairy
The Bush Dairy management system, invented by Red Dane Agri Solutions, is aimed at making dairy farming more sustainable and attainable.

The controlled daily movement of the Bush Dairy herd using an electric fence grazing system transforms natural and planted pastures. Bush encroachment is reduced, and soil humus is built up, tying up carbon. The result, over time, is that the carrying capacity of the land and quality of pastures increases significantly. The regular movement of cattle also preserves hoof health and reduces diseases such as mastitis through limiting bacteria build up.

The Bush Dairy trailers have different models to suit your operation - the best model for you will depend on your herd size, budget and availability of labour.

There are two management systems for the Bush Dairy: the Intensive and Extensive.
Both systems can be tailored to suit any particular farm, but the defining principles remain the same.
Watch the videos below for detailed information on each management system.

Extensive Bush Dairy
Extensive Bush Dairy System

-
Uses natural pastures and indigenous cross-bred cattle, such as the T-Rex, that can survive in a harsher environment
-
Milking machines can be fitted, but hand milking is recommended
-
Ideal option for a small-scale farmer wishing to progress to a medium-scale level

The Intensive Bush Dairy
Intensive Bush Dairy System
-
Uses improved pastures, irrigated if possible and dairy breeds
-
Milking machines and cooling tanks are often required due to the higher yields
-
All-year round calving and breeding with AI is most common
-
Cows should move to a different area daily, and the dairy brought to them twice a day for milking
